Essenside, a loch near the centre of Ashkirk parish, W Roxburghshire. Lying 680 feet above sea-level, it measures ¼ by 1/8. mile, abounds in fine trout and perch, and sends off a streamlet to the Ale.Ord. Sur., sh. 17, 1864.
