Ravenglass, small seaport and market town with ry. sta., Muncaster par., Cumberland, at the head of the estuary of the Irt, Mite, and Esk, 4½ miles NW. of Bootle and 16½ SE. of Whitehaven; P.O., T.O. Market-day, Wednesday. The population of Ravenglass is engaged in the coasting trade and oyster fishery.
