(conjoint with BLACKSHIELS: which see), on E. border of Edinburghshire, 3½ miles NE. of Tynehead sta.; ½ mile NE. is Fala Hall; ½ mile NW. (partly in Crichton par.) is the hamlet of Fala Dam; 1½ mile SW. is Fala Moor, and Fala Flow, moss.
