Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Arthur's Seat

Arthur's Seat.-- a picturesque and conspicuous hill overlooking Edinburgh, on SE. side of the city, and commanding an extensive and magnificent prospect, alt. 822 ft. On the W. of Arthur's Seat are Salisbury Crags, forming a crescent of rugged cliffs from 60 to 80 ft. high, and crowning a steep hill of 500 ft.
