MEASE (THE), a river of Leicester, Derby, and Warwick. It rises a little E of Ashby-de-la-Zouch; runs about 5½ miles south-south-westward, and about 9 westward, but eventually west-north-westward, to the Trent in the neighbourhood of Croxall; and traces, at intervals, the county-boundaries.
