ROXBY, a chapelry in Hinderwell parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 6 miles N of Lealholm r. station, and 10 W N W of Whitby. Post-town, Redcar. Acres, 2, 410. Real property, £1, 755. Pop., 234. Houses, 41. The living is annexed to the rectory of Hinderwell.
