The 1821 census report states "The Parish of Carrickbeg, called also Carrick-mac-griffin, which is ecclesiastically considered to be included in the Parish of Carrick, in the Barony of Iffa and Offa East, Tipperary County, forms part of the suburbs of the Town of Carrick-on-Suir".
